![]() ![]() ![]() When the Kharaa Bacterium was released onto the planet, many creatures died, destroying the food source of her species is capable of telepathic speech, which she uses to communicate with the player at various locations around the world. It's suggested that in the past these creatures would have traveled in small herds in the bottom of the trenches (that being the Crater Edge), occasionally coming to the surface to feast on the microorganisms in the shallower water. ![]() She also has a hole in the back with an unknown purpose, most likey for creating enzyme 42 or laying eggs.ĭespite her gargantuan size, her diet consists solely of micro-organisms filtered from the water, much like real-life Baleen whales and Blue whales. Unlike the Sea Dragon Leviathan, she doesn't have true graspers instead, its forelimbs are two massive, paddle-like arms, similar to some paddles used by turtles, primarily used for stabilization while swimming and possibly used for defense against predators. Her posterior consists of seven long, yet slim tentacles ending with large tentacular clubs, with the largest being in the center, surrounded by the six smaller tentacles. She has four binocular eyes, glowing cyan in color Her head is comparatively small, and quite peculiar in shape (see "Trivia" below for more), featuring two striped antennae with glowing green lures atop her snout, two large mandibles on each side of heer rather small mouth, and a glowing hollow between these mandibles. Its tentacles are adorned with bright cyan bioluminescent "bulbs." She is colossal, having a stocky, entirely armored body and is predominantly pale brown in color, with shades of green. It is sapient and telepathic, but unlike most Leviathans, it is not aggressive. Similar to feeding Stalkers using Peepers. The Sea Emperor Leviathan is the largest of the living Leviathan class fauna found within the crater in Subnautica. Not 100% sure if it still works, but it used to be that if you were holding an Oculus fish, when the Reaper bit your character, he would eat the Oculus and not hurt you. You can take four to five "mouth fights" before your Prawn will go POP!įinally, try taking some Oculus fish with you (you can find them in the Jelly Shroom Caves), keep them on your hotbar. Only other thing that I can add from killing one recently, is that even if he grabs you in your Prawn (punch his stoopid face), then you're only going to take about a quarter damage on the suit before he lets you go and usually retreats. I find Reapers to be terrifying, even when I can hear them, so much of my safety and comfort in this game comes from that all around you sense you get from the audio cues.Īfter reading your story, I really would love to see the devs add subtitles for 'Danger' audio cues, maybe with a little directional arror glowing in red to give a rough indication of location around you. Wow, I have to say, that must be terrifying. I am not sure if the reaper will actually attack the beacon or what. I was thinking of put a beacon at each aproximate reaper levitathan location so this don't happens. We both didn't take on any damage even although the prawn suit was definitely hit. Luckly I had reinforced diving suit AND my prawn suit had reinforcement. Somehow I manage to get so close that it came. I mean I always knew there was one somewhere in the dune but I never saw it. Got into my prawn suit and ran away from the reaper leviathan. So I put my drill arm concern aside for now. My first warning was that prawn suit itself was suddenly shifted a few meter to the left. I didn't see the reaper leviathan coming. I open up the tablet to look what the material requirement was while looking at prawn inventory. I was out wandering in the west, dune biome I think, in my prawn suit looking for a second drill arm fragment (over 30 hours and yes I don't have it).
